About The Gymnastics Files

What is The Gymnastics Files?

The Gymnastics Files is a podcast-first home for honest conversations about the sport — with articles that dig deeper into the stories, rules, and moments the show doesn’t have time to fully unpack.

We talk to elite gymnasts and other voices from the sport. Whether you’ve followed the sport for years or you’re still learning what a connection bonus is, this is built for you.

  • Insider conversations with the people actually living the sport
  • Technical breakdowns that make the rules make sense
  • Coverage that’s accessible whether you’re new or you’ve watched every Olympics since ’96

Where your support goes

What is the Athlete Fund

The Athlete Fund is a small pot of money that goes directly to gymnasts who need it — for travel to meets, physio, coaching hours, and the costs that quietly push people out of the sport.

A portion of our revenue goes into the fund automatically. You can add to it too — once it reaches a set level, we give it to an athlete in need. We publish where it lands each season, so you can see exactly which athletes it reached and what it paid for.

Contributions go directly to The Gymnastics Files and are not tax-deductible. This isn’t a registered charity or nonprofit — it’s money we choose to put toward athletes who need it.

The team

Who makes it

Arman Liew
Co-Founder, Publisher
Arman is Co-Founder and Publisher of The Gymnastics Files, where he hosts the podcast- sitting down with elite athletes to bring their stories to the community. A competitive gymnast himself until age 13, he’s spent his life around the sport in one way or another. He’s also the creator and director of the popular healthy recipe blog, The Big Man’s World.
Emma Nedov
Co-Founder, Olympian and Elite Gymnast
Emma is Co-Founder of The Gymnastics Files and one of Australian gymnastics’ most recognizable faces- a 2024 Olympian and multiple-time National Champion on beam, with a World Cup gold to her name. Her path to Paris was anything but conventional, marked by two retirements and a comeback that defined her career. She brings that hard-won, insider perspective to everything the site covers.

Questions we get asked

No — we’re independent. We don’t answer to a federation, gym, or governing body, which means we can ask harder questions and call things as we see them.

Through episode sponsorships, site advertising, and paid event hosting and commentary work. Anything commercial is always clearly labeled.

No — we’re selective. We focus on major and elite-level meets rather than trying to cover everything.
